LIMITED EDITION COMIX - 5 YEARS (AND 20 YEARS) IN THE MAKING...

In 1991 Richard Emms, one of the directors of Limited Edition Comix, opened his first retail store in St. Albans and built a glowing business, supplying hundreds of comic fans titles each week as well as providing one of the best selection of back issues in the South East area. Richard sold up in 2003 and moved in to comic book publishing - which he had always wanted to do - and even to this day he is working with some of the biggest names in the industry under the Ardden and Atlas Comics banners. Flash Gordon, Grim Ghost and even Capser the Friendly Ghost, Richard has played a part in the editorial and design of these new exciting titles.

In 2006, after a few years out of comic retail and his contacts within the industry building rapidly, he decided to embark on a new retail project, supplying his home town comic fans of Stevenage one of the best ranges of import and back issue comics. It was then, in a small indoor market, that Limited Edition was born.

In early 2007 Limited Edition took over the customer database of Comix-shop.co.uk, an online retailer that had been in business for ten years... it was then that Limited Edition Comix came to fruition.

In 2008, just before the recession struck, Richard decided that the indoor market was not big enough to continue trading and moved the retail business and online store to Market Place - where it is currently trading from. 1000 sq ft of comics collectibles and merchandise can be seen if you visit the store!! The move was the best thing to happen and the store survived the doom and gloom of the economic slump.

Joining Richard in the store is Wesley (one of Richard's long time customers from his first retail store), Carl (who now looks after the online orders and re-orders) and Zach - who is in at the weekends and works hard making  sure that the back issues are sorted.

As well as a growing retail business in comics, Limited Edition has one of the finest stocks of toys and designer toys. Kidrobot, Bowen, Mcfarlane -- they can ALL be found under ONE roof.

Richard lives in Stevenage with his "better half" of 20 years, Gaye and their son, Myles, who is 18 years old.
